First Cravings

I thought before that I may have had my first pregnancy cravings. I thought, well I'm in the mood for french fries, so that means I'm craving them. No, that just meant I was in the mood for fries and I was using my pregnancy to justify the fact that I wanted to eat anything fried.

Starting a couple of days ago, I have in insatiable appetite for vegetables! Not just any vegetables though, I crave raw and fresh carrots, cucumbers and celery. I bought and ate an entire veggie platter in one sitting. Right after that, I cut up a cucumber and ate the entire thing with a little sea salt. Jeremy went and picked up a few groceries yesterday and picked up two huge cucumbers. I just finished the last one and felt a huge sadness when I realized I was out of cucumbers. Celery makes me feel the same way too. Other than fresh veggies and dip or salt, I haven't had any irrational cravings but I do get hungry every few hours. Also, when I eat, I can't finish my food usually, and in an hour or two I'm ready to finish my plate.

Jeremy and I went to the gym together tonight for a spin class and we both got a great workout! We were the only people in the place that laughed when the instructor played "gettin' jiggy wit it" by Will Smith. Come on people, isn't that funny? It's a funny song. Jeremy whispered to me "uh, oh! Now the party is getting started."

Happy first birthday Nora! You cute little one year old! Major props to Erin and Eric for refusing to have a huge, elaborate blowout for Nora's first birthday. She's one. She won't remember. I'm much in favor of what they chose instead.

Give me your thoughts on a diaper genie. One friend said "NO WAY" and another said I can't live without one. Give me some input!

Happy New Year! My resolution last year was to be nicer. I think that being nicer for a whole year might have been a little unrealistic but all in all, I think I made many attempts to be nicer, less judgemental. Not sure what my resolution will be this year, but it will be a good one!

Maine Visit

I just booked a ticket to enter vacationland on Saturday, March 27th and leave the way life should be on Friday, April 2nd!

Looking forward to a visit...........I'll be about 5 months pregnant! Yikes! However, I'll be in my second trimester and they say that is the one with the least mood swings. I shouldn't be too nasty. However, I will miss my husband and puppies! Don't be alarmed if you hear me talking to Parker or Zoey on the phone. Not going to lie, it is more for me than for them. I think the phone confuses them.

Can't wait to see everyone! Be sure to tell me how slim I look.

Success!

I took every ones advice and ate a small bit of carbohydrates before and after taking my prenatal poison, I mean vitamin. It worked! No barfing for today although I did get a little queasy.

Off the topic, Jeremy got me a car detailing package for xmas and they came today and took 2 hours to clean my car! It looks great and now that I don't smoke then it won't get full of ashes. However, I need to stop eating breakfast in my car when I drive to work.

I agree with Lauryn and really like the Miki Trees for the baby bedding although I'm not ruling out any other ones.

I think I'm going to get a belly band so I can still wear my pants. Seeing as I walked around in public today with my pants unbuttoned (but zipped!), I guess I have nothing to lose.

More Nursery Ideas

Input welcome, but I warn you, I may ignore your selection. Darn these pregnancy hormones! I have been called mean before but when I'm in the hormone zone, watch out as I am not responsible for what may come out of my sarcastic, filthy mouth.

It is a queer feeling when I know that I JUST picked these out, yet upon posting them I find that I in fact despise my own selection. It is no wonder why it took me so long to choose wedding colors.

Shout-out time!

Thanks Mom for telling me about amazon for baby stuff
Thanks Cheryl for the idea to blog since we are far away
Thanks Eric for posting a link to this blog on your blog (and for the offer for help)
Thanks Parker for laying on all my clean clothes and getting your hair on them
Thanks Zoey for walking right in front of me, causing me to step on your paw which then caused you to cry like I beat you.

Baby Room

I have been looking around for ideas for the nursery. I'm only 10 weeks now, so I have plenty of time to decide what I want but it is really fun to look.

I know that if it is a girl, I don't want a pink palace! I like feminine but I don't want to shove it down our baby's throat. If she is a girl, she doesn't need oodles of pink to remind her of her gender.

I really really like the idea of stars and moons for a boy but I can't seem to find a really cute set. Since we live outside of Memphis, a star is not just a star. It is also a gang sing, depending on how many points in the star and what color it is written in. So I want to find a star and moon set that doesn't look ghetto. I don't want to commit my child to a gang quite yet, I prefer to let him or her choose which gang they will affiliate with. Actually, a moon is also gang related. Haha, maybe I'll scrap the idea of stars and moons!

Here are a few links to the bedding sets I kind of like so far:

As for being sick, I haven't prayed to the porcelain god since the earlier incident but I'm going to be cautious when I take my vitamin tomorrow. If I spew, I'll post exactly what it looked like.

On a side note, it is Libby's birthday! She is 25 and I wish I could be there to celebrate with her. I would bake her a cake with love.

It has begun. 10 weeks pregnant.

Today it began. The sickness. I was simply putting on makeup to go out with Jeremy and it came.....that watery feeling in the mouth. I thought it might stop, but it most certainly did not. In an attempt to spare Jeremy, I went to the spare bathroom as he was showering. It was awful. Prenatal pills in liquid form. Nasty. I was sweating and my face was red. I'm hoping this is not a sign of what the rest of my pregnancy will be like.

Now I'm bummed cause Jeremy is going shopping and I'm stuck sitting on the couch with my hair done nicely, makeup put on at a professional level, and jeans that I can't button up. I think it is time to *sigh* buy some maternity pants.

On the bright side, Jeremy just left so I can change the channel from ESPN to Animal Planet!

Post more later. I'll be sure to describe, in detail, every joy and terrible side effect of pregnancy.
